More Than Friends (The Friends Zone 1 & 2)
Chloe Thomas is a small town girl with small town dreams. All she wanted from life was to live and be happy. She’s tormented by a past relationship that she can’t seem to escape; Chloe feels like her only option is to swear off men completely. Two years later, the self-imposed “man-ban” is still going strong, but then Skye walks back into her life.
Skye Carter left Bartow thirteen years ago an awkward, pimple-faced boy who didn’t quite fit in, but the man that returns evokes a white-hot fire inside of her.
Chloe is the only woman Skye has ever loved and he’s not about to let her slip through his fingers again. Just when Skye thinks he’s finally broken down the walls of stone that surround Chloe’s heart, something happens that will leave them both devastated and broken. Are they strong enough to survive?
Forever & More (The Friends Zone #3)
It’s a time for new beginnings, a time for change, but things don’t always go as planned. How do you pick up the pieces of your heart and move on when you can’t find them all? Chloe recovers from her physical injuries, but does that mean she’s healed? How much longer can Skye sit back and watch the only woman he loves slowly kill herself? Lines are crossed and souls are shattered, but when you have faith in those you love, nothing is completely lost. Happily ever after’s come to those who work for it. It’s not something that is handed out freely. For it to be worth something, you have to earn it.
The one thing I had, was that I was Very lucky to have all three books at my disposal so I could read book after book without having to stop and wait for the next one to come out! Reading Chloe and Skye’s story from start to finish uninterrupted was nothing short of amazing. Tabetha Thompson truly has a way with words and she has written a Love story that is phenomenal in how REAL it was, there were so many elements of it that made it realistic, relatable and unique in it’s passion. I’m all for reading New Adult Romance novels that take me away from my life and inject a true escapism style of plot, settings , and characters who are perfect in every sense, who then go on to have outrageous hot sex but these three novels were written with a unique blend of genuine feeling and honesty.
Chloe is a strong woman who is still running from her past which torments her emotions. Trying to stay strong she has put herself into a self imposed man ban, and she has been able to keep to it through the past two years since her relationship with Todd fell to pieces around her. Her two best friends Sarah and Tom support her, compliment her and also work with her at the bar she works in. Todd is the one who hires the band “Escaped” for the bar and when Chloe realizes that her old flame Skye is part of the band, she is interested to see what kind of person he has grown up to be. When she first sees him she is floored by the fact he is no longer the young spotty slim boy he used to be and in his place is a hot, sexy and yummy man that she is attracted to, something she never thought possible. It’s been years since Chloe last saw Skye and she never expected to have any reactions to him or attractions, she never expected Skye to be the one to shatter her resolve to forgo ANY relationship but he sweeps her off her feel with just one look. Skye ignites the fire in her belly, pours desire into her veins and make her knees go weak – 2 souls colliding as 1.
Skye left Bartow (their home town) thirteen years ago, with dreams of his own and it doesn’t take long for him to grow out of his geekyness, awkwardness and younger looks, but the one thing he did keep hold of was the feelings he held in his heart for Chloe. Secretly for his entire school life he kept he feelings to himself knowing it was not the right time, not his time to shine, but when he sees Chloe at the bar where his band has been booked to work they explode outwards.
As the night progresses everything escalates and just when Skye and Chloe something devastating happens and their relationship. as tender as it is, only just beginning is tested……..Can they get past it?………….Steamy, Sexy, Sultry and Seeped in Sex and the purity of captured and re-captured True Love only to be left on a hell of a cliffhanger!!!
*****WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS****** ~~~~~~~ ******SPOILER ALERT******
In Forever More (Friends Zone #3), Tabetha Thompson we pick right up from the previous novel – her style of writing has matured and you can see that she has become more seasoned as a writer. I was lucky to be able to read this novel straight after the first two and not have to wait like everyone else (sorry ;P )! Reading F & M #3 was very emotional, it just goes to show just how down-to-Earth the style of writing is, the plot and who the characters are as people who you can relate to. That is something I am really glad didn’t change, I love how Tabeth Thompson is a realist who doesn’t go over the top with her plot lines, making them too Erotically fancifully driven. It’s all about the raw emotion in Forever & More #3, making it the perfect ending to Chloe and Skye’s Love story. You do need to read Books 1 & 2 to get the full story here and I would advise you to go and purchase them and read them before you continue on reading this review.
More Than Friends
In Forever & More, we find Chloe broken and set on a path that will ultimately destroy her. She has no hope, no love and no family. Every one she has ever loved she believes has betrayed her, leaving her to turn to drugs and booze in order to try and get through the day. The level of her depression practically oozes off the pages, bringing tears my eyes because it is really hard to blame her for why she feels that way and why she has turned to this den of pure self hatred, her pain became my pain. It is very obvious that Tabetha has researched depression and addiction to the full extent because she emulates it elegantly and with great respect so you are able to see the truth behind the hurt and her (Chloe’s) decision’s why she chosen the path she has……..Can she make the change she needs before she goes too far? Or will things take a turn for the worst?
Skye is holding on as best he can, trying to support her but there is only so much any person can handle even if they are in love with them, even their soul mate. Depression & addiction are hard not only on the person suffering from them but also for the people around them, their loved ones and Skye is doing his utmost to do what he can, be there as much as he can. He is tested time and time again……..can he hold on?
There are a huge amount of twists and turns and it had me guessing whether Chloe and Skye would make it together or whether it would all fall apart. The journey taken from where Chloe begins to where she ends up is nothing short of impressive and Tabetha explains it all perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this series, it was exceptionally refreshing to read it from both Chloe and Skye’s POV throughout the series and also the realness of every scenario on each page. The perfect ending to a brilliant series. 4**** Stars.
About me? Huh well what can I say. I’m a twenty-nine-year-old stay at home mother of two beautiful girls and I have the opportunity to share my stories with you… My children are amazing. There isn’t a day that goes by that they don’t challenge my husband and I or make us laugh and feel loved. Growing up the way I did, I never wanted kids, but they’re here and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world for. God has truly blessed my family and me. My husband Bill is the levelheaded one; he’s always so calm and logical, whereas I’m the loud-mouthed spaz that doesn’t know when to shut up. He was my saving grace in a time when I really needed one. I honestly believe he is my gift from God. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted: smart, kind, loving, PATIENT, (lord knows he needs it living with me) and so very supportive! I’m a firm believer in going through life’s tragedies and blessings so that you can become the person you were meant to be. Writing has always been a hidden passion of mine and I am so thankful that I finally have the opportunity to share my stories with you.
