Fatal Abduction by Julia Crane was very interesting and quite gripping in places. It is not the type of book I normally read but the fantasy side of the plot sounded intriguing. I quite enjoyed reading about The Doll House Killer and the unit who hunt for him.
The book begins right in the thick of the action with a young girl trapped in an underground cell trying to find a way to escape as she fears for her life. The Doll House Killer has her trapped and she knows that her time is coming up shorter and shorter. You see The Doll House Killer was given his famous name because with each dead body of the young girl that he kidnapped and toyed with for weeks that he leaves posed for the public to find, he also leaves a miniature complete doll house. The actual character that plays the killer, I think is brilliant and very well written.
What about the team that hunts him?…. Well that’s where I did come across a bit of a problem as I actually haven’t read book 1 or book 2 in this series so I found myself constantly feeling like I was missing something as the character of Kaitlyn has been “enhanced” to say the least to the point where she has become half human, half cyborg and her fellow team mates are on regiment drugs that help keep them in tip top shape. They all work for a secret covert dark underground, possibly Military company called the IFICS.
I would strongly suggest that if you haven’t read any of the IFICS Series by Julia Crane yet do so because they do sound AMAZING! So much so I am going to go back and read book 1 to find out the “origin” story to this brilliant plot. For those that have read the series so far you will not be disappointed. Everything is action packed and full of suspense, A True Thriller! 4**** (Only because I had not read Book 1 or two in the IFICS Series)
